@kuali @Almond-Magnum

Thank you!

I feel the alliance between Ernie and Oberon isn't going to survive the next volume.
This arc is longer than I was expecting, and while it introduced some interesting concepts, I'm already missing giant mechas.

@OvanZero I'm told this is fixed. Hopefully you see the same.

Just as a bit of info -- from what I can tell, the author hasn't continued beyond this point quite yet. So it remains to be see whether there will be more in the future.

At any rate, thanks to everyone who's come along for the ride thus far!

@alahue Thank you for making Mondays a day to enjoy.

The introductory message about "universal ethics" seems to describe UH perfectly. Everything they do screams "there is exactly one way to do things, and everyone who does it differently is evil." Their goal is to have every planet be identical. Their vision is more stagnant than the Abh.

(Of course I imagine that starting a war and lying about it goes against their universal ethics, so they're also massive hypocrites.)

I almost feel like I’m with the gang in the book. Please end these games and conquer the dungeon, already!

The trials are kinda cute, but I’m getting sick of them and want to feel like more progress is being made. :p

@LightningLeaf Bit of a necro post but in volume 1 Char clearly says (monologs to himself anyways) that he has never considered being intimate with Lam because he didn't want to risk having any biological children when he knows how horribly his own childhood went strictly because the families former leader repeatedly tried to have him killed so their son could take over.

Now, this was of course before he realized Lam was hot magic jesus with a bundle of sociopathic apostles who are all trying to get into her pants with various levels of ignoring consent. Even when he does start to think he's actually attracted to her he recognizes that she hasn't voiced the same thing and he isn't a fucking rapist (Which, much to my disappointment) seems to be a rare quality in this world.

Well Ikki already fought and won a battle without bring able to use Ittou Shura, although it was against a weaker opponent, so I'm curious to see what he'll pull out against the perverted paintress. Unless the answer is simply that he trained hard and he can use it twice, but that would be too convenient.

Im glad to have been i troduced to this series, it's been gripping all the way through.

@LeavesCat said in Crest of the Stars Vol. 1 Discussion:

I can definitely believe that a father would prank his 8-year-old daughter by telling her she was half-cat, not realizing that she would believe him wholeheartedly and get traumatized for years.

@zwabbit said in Crest of the Stars Vol. 1 Discussion:

@LeavesCat You're giving Lafier's father way too much credit if you think he didn't realize exactly how she would take it. Or too little. Not sure which here.

I just watched the first four anime episodes of 'Crest of the Stars' today and this very subject was part of episode 3 where Lafi explained to Jinto what her father did to her, and how it affected her at the time. It showed her as a small girl staring into a mirror checking her face for cat signs and then checking her hands wondering whether they would turn into paws or develop retractable claws. So it did affect her mentally as a child (according to the anime). Whether her father knew it would or not was not addressed. She did say that she resented him as a child for doing it even if it was in jest.

Edited to add the following anime image of 8 year old Lafi crying while staring into a mirror.
(note matted image is exactly like it is in the anime for memory purposes I suppose)

Really, Hiro, god hood? That's decidedly unoriginal and boring.

So, Nameless did survive and even reclaimed power in the form of a duplicate she had created to gain a Felblade. I wonder what happened to Garda's after it abandoned him? Maybe he can get it back.

@saidahgilbert
Don't forget the illustrations.
So cute!

@yzh4rjdzob6 True. If you think about it that way…

@Hylebos I went to the books series and saw the second volume listed and moused over the light lime green volume 2 chp 1. The chapters release date popped up in a tool tip. But it is out now, so it's whatever. time to dig in.

Well that was delightful as a FUNA book. And as sapphic. Pity there's not a volume number on the cover.

@Phabiohost Volume 2 should now start streaming on May 12th!

That hierophant be a crazy dude. Strong, very strong but crazy. Now that Allen has arrived let's see just how strong he really is.

Just read the volume, it was nice and fun...but yhe ending? Almost feels like a part was missing.
