With suicides happening a lot these days in real life it is not something I would personally push in any form as an author. Better to have the MC surrender and see what life would have in store is my point. For plot purposes he would have been executed but at least it wouldn't have been by his own hand.

If the audience for Light Novels are mainly young people I would be more careful. My opinion is all.

Well, think that Japanese society see suicide quite differently we, westerns do.
Suicide, or Seppuku ritual, or 'facing death' is from a Japanese POV a kind of spirit relief.
So many oriental cultures, like Japanese, believe in 'Karma' and reincarnation, as such a big topic for 'Isekai' LN boom and commercial exit.

They even see in a different complete way our 'Christian' religion belief to boot it.

There's also the idea that with suicide it's relatively quick and clean, instead of potentially days, weeks, months of suffering. "A fate worse than death" really does happen.

Depending upon what she knows it could be a significant step forward, yes.
At the least the concept of 'rehousing' them would hopefully spring to mind.

So I finished reading this volume and noticed that there weren't any illustrations anywhere. Did the 10th volume just not have any?

It's even more baffling since author is wasting time explaining how Japanese people relate to organized religions...in a series aimed at Japanese readers. It's like I was reading an Italian author feeling the need to explain in great detail how much Italians love football.
Anyway, it was nice to see Ryoma making more allies...looks like he'll soon need as much help as possible. Looking forward to the next volume, even if I know I'll have things to complain about again.

Well, wasn't expecting this to end this abruptly, and from what others said, it doesn't seem we are getting a continuation in the WN. At least there was some closure, even if very rushed, but I would've liked a kiss between Noah and Aht.
Hard to believe this is really the ending the author wanted, feels more like an age,but we'll never know.

I think I was raised on too much gallows humor since the only death that affected me over 14 volumes was the concierge. Sad that she felt the need to try to kill Yogiri even though we readers knew it was impossible.

Aside from bystanders she might have been the only person in the series who didn't deserve it.

I'll mention one last time that the author's other series (My Big Sister) is well worth reading, and it has a much lower body count.

Huh. Never would have thought I'd see a protagonist that frequents /r/dragonsfuckingcars

As weird as I find the romance in this novel, I'm still frustrated by the ending. The MC always does what's 'rational,' ignoring his own desires and not learning a single thing since the end of volume 1 despite so many characters warning him. Fortunately, there's another 6 volumes out in Japan so this is obviously not actually the end. Hopefully next time he'll find a way to get a human form again and stay in that world so the drama won't get played out.
