One of the better volumes among the recent ones. Still wish there were less inner monologues and more action, but this time the digressions weren't unbearable as before. I hope it's not a fluke but a sign that the writing is improving.

@Jon-Mitchell apparently I missed a v9 coming out, because I've just seen that v10 has been announced and seemingly marked as the final volume.

@Lex Well the main issue with Ikaruga is that it outstrips the rest of the units mechs leaving it with no real support.

So rather than upgrading it a better option woukd be to provide similar powerful mechs to his closest friends/allies so they can keep up and support him.

And woth this volume, I've caught up with what I previously saw for this series on manga and anime form. The Seven Stars tournament has been hyped a lot, but we gotba glimpse of the fact that it's just the tip of the iceberg and a much longer and harder road awaits for Ikki.

If that was the ending, it was a damn good one. I love that the story threaded the needle between complete disaster chef and inexplicable perfection. Like, the former is almost a standard trope and it wouldn't fit this series, while the latter could be either "oh this is just like making potions" or "oh this is just like [insert task] I do all the time" and they somehow make an amazing meal. It feels real for the story being written.

Just a quick few errors I had screenshot but never actually reported that I don't see anyone else mentioning on here (I'm sorry I can't check anymore if these have been fixed, should be a quick check though):

"...the pinnacle of sophistication de. I could..."

"...as to its identity, the massive crocodile like fish swam towards me..."

"...it was a Technique that I had used thousands, ten thousands, even millions of times before."

If they aren't viewed as errors then I understand. Just wanted to report this just in case.

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but it looks like volume 7 is being released in Japan this week.

Well that illustration is certainly ominous. Mark was given the power they believe will crush Sol, but we'll see how that goes. Looking forward to the next volume, since we were told in the afterword that the Numbers will get their time in the spotlight. Hopefully, we'll get some illustrations of them too.

The royal children talking about how eager their father was to finish up his kingly duties and hand them off, while clearly thinking about getting his old team back together had me laughing out loud. I'd love to see them show up or just be referenced in future volumes.

@Ingraman - enjoy. The series has fun, clever and silly moments like that all the way up through the current volume 15.

Good grief. I like this series and I wouldn't have minded one more volume, but if the author felt this was the natural conclusion it was better this way. I won't deny that part of this volume felt rushed and would've benefited from a higher page count, even if it's already longer than the previous ones.
I'm a bit disappointed that Eliza and Noel didn't get their happy ending, although the implication is that it's only a matter of time.
This isn't going to be remembered as a masterpiece or anything of the likes, but it was a nice read.

The artist wanted to draw the picture, and we let them. Upon seeing it, we had to write a story related to it.
I enjoy hearing of such a relationship between those involved with the story.

That definitely explained why we didn’t read about something that we saw on the cover until the last possible moment in the book. I was a bit confused when the departure from Mahati came up and Alna still hadn’t been portrayed in that lovely outfit. :)

It could have been like Cooking with Wild Game, where they stated that starting with volume [redacted] the cover art might have nothing to do with the contents, but would just be what the artist felt like drawing.

I started reading this book because I was intrigued by the idea of an otome game reincarnator ditching her suitors and living her best life. However, that doesn't seem to be what's happening here. Also, the mystery plot that's driven by miscommunication and outright lies of omission by characters and the narrative is really annoying so I don't know if I will continue this series.

I am just going to say I truly do not understand how we ended up getting this "my first self published Romantasy novel." I am happy people like it but, holy crap that plot was worse than Wattpad/AO3 fics. There was next to zero logic used by the writer to put this sloppy story half-assed together. I love some good trash but I only pushed through this as a hate read. Any attempts at foreshadowing were immediately paid out within a few lines. The arbitrary hostility everyone towards the FL felt like the writer wanted to write their middle school bullying victim fantasy with adults and it didn't actually translate because adults don't just do this kind of stuff even in hyper bigoted societies. This is a poorly written power fantasy and it sounded like it had a good premise. Sorry I am just disappointed that this is what we got.

I'm a bit sad that we didn't get to see Raid and Eluria going all out but the tow of them toying with Wallus was fin so it's forgiven. And just when I was wondering how many volumes it will take to find him it turns out he has always been there, so next volume we should get some answers.
The plot moved so fast in the last parts, including a sudden confession from Raid after we were basically told to expect the status quo to be maintained until the end, that when I read the author mentioning problems and having 10 volumes worth of plot planned I was afraid he was going to announce the series was axed and he was struggling to end it in ine more volume, but luckily it wasn't the case.

Volume 11 has been available for purchase in Japanese from Bookwalker since early June 2024. Not sure when we'll see the English release. Hopefully soon.

Just seeing this now, but this would be a pretty cool meaning behind the naming he chose to go with. I'd speculate that it might be the intention? But at least in the Japanese, they specifically use グルン (Gurun) and not ジェルンド (Gerund), so it's hard to say definitively if this would be the case. But then, I guess you could spin it as Veight not knowing German well and kinda fudged his name to mean what you mentioned. That'd be a Veight thing to do.
