I agree with the author, a story without drama like this one is nice and I hope it's not going to change.

Honestly, I really liked this volume. Did the plot advance significantly? No. Did I enjoy it despite that? Yes. I really enjoy slice of life/shenanigan-based series with female leads, especially because of the amount of yuri flirting present in this volume.

I do agree that the plot shouldn't come to a standstill for multiple volumes. On the flip side, if the plot advances too fast (think of Mushoku Tensei turning points or Conqueror of the Dying Kingdom) that's an absolute drop from me.

In the end, the thing that was most annoying about this volume was the bickering with Victorica. We could have removed that from the volume to improve it 5 fold.

This volume show that there are divine beasts capable of possessing humans. Wouldn't that mean non-saints are capable of ki possession with divine beast too?

No idea about their romance prospects beyond industrial composter effluent if they try to get the jump on Haruka.

@endoftheline The gauntlet has already been foreshadowed, Kaho and Sae brought up the topic of boys as soon as they started talking about classmates in one of their side stories - unless I'm grossly mis remembering things.

I rather enjoyed this little series. I liked the ending. I would have been just as satisfied without the epilogue, but it's a nice little epilogue.

Having just finished this, I'm feeling a little deflated. I'm pretty sure this was the first time I saw "if you're having suicidal thoughts" at the start of a chapter in a light novel - and I'm glad that's becoming something of a standard and I see it quite often when appropriate in other media - but still, this volume was darker than I expected it to.

The writing's good, as usual, and I love how much they all feel like just like young people who do young people things, with a lots of mistakes and miscommunication that feels authentic. And I love that we totally don't get people stuck in the harem hell of "I'll be your rival from now on" and similar, but that they grow and move on as best they can.

There's been quite a few super powerful moments, with that confrontation between Natsuki and Reita over how Reita was basically just thinking of himself and not what Miori must be going through being my favourite, and I was teary-eyed for the last quarter of the book.

With that being said, I'm a little sad to see the chance of Natsuki+Miori go away. They had a crazy amount of chemistry together imo and I was rooting for them since volume 1, so there's a big "what now?" feeling after the ending of this volume.

So the new girl didn't join the harem, did the author think we already have enough candidates? It was a bit disappointing...but well, it's not like we don't know that this will either have an open ending or the little girl is going to win.
Looks like we learned the identity of the final boss...Zenos' other childhood friend who apparently has similar overpowered healing powers.

I was disappointed when I learned that Kelvin was paired against DarkMel but I guess it won't be a real problem now that there are more pressing matters to deal with.

I also have to admit that I wasn't really that interested in the parts about the girls at the academy so if this going to be the main focus for the next volumes I'm not sure how long I'll keep reading.
