Do synopsis and afterword just get translated pretty much the same way as the main part or they tend to stand out (in terms of difficulty or otherwise)?

Is there a grammar rule that you find counter-intuitive but still have to follow it because of conventions while thinking "this is super dumb" every time?

There have been talks that the translator (think Sam himself), will pick it back up when he's less busy. We'll see I guess. =]

Just finished reading the volume after starting it the other day. I definitely liked the comedy in this volume. I think one of my favorite scenes that was funny was Nem holding onto Duplichiro's waist. I wish there was an illustration for that considering how silly it is.

Regarding Rosemary's avatar, I'm guessing it was generated based off perfection taken from all the players which is probably why she looks "familiar".

The idea that the author could write a weeaboo character so accurate makes me feel shame as a being also shaped as a human. I wish I could turn into an AI and run away.

Regarding Asuha wanting to visit Seattle. The Mariners suck. Thus, the reason she wanted to visit was because one of the players formerly on the team is named Ichiro. If that's actually true, good on the author for being able to catch that bit of trivia.

Tough to keep track of all these characters now. We got:

Monica: Young girl (older by Outer age) who is connected to Yuichi by giving him the sight power.

Ryouma: Protagonist. Basically, he's like that dude from "I Saved too Many Girls and Caused the Apocalypse".

Serial God Killer: Her name is like Rakki or something? She's

Priest: This guy is basically Kotomine Kirei from Fate Stay. Runs the holy vessel war, tests people. He runs around with that negator skill kid.

Ende: Outer. Carries books that tell of future, present, past. Currently connected to protagonist (is she going to steal him romantically from childhood friend, or is she just playing?).

Hero: Red head? Can't die right away (revival skill). Fairly weak overall since she is ruled by a leveling system like in games. Friends with Natsuki.

v6 p8 90%:

Suzuran is [...], but she's spent so little time as a human that she doesn't know what her feelings are. [...] Once he has a firmer grasp on the human heart, she may find it easy to make Rekka hers.

(There's nothing wrong here grammar wise, but contextually I thought "Once she has a firmer grasp" was a better fit and that "he" could have been a typo. It does still make some sense as "he," so maybe that's right, but I thought it worth mentioning.)

On one hand I don't usually enjoy short story episodes as much, on the other hand this series can use a break from the usual format. Perhaps it was because the dramatic elements were mostly absent, but Rekka's facepalm-worthy behavior seems to stick out a little more in this volume. It would be nice if his character could have some evolution.

One element in this volume was R influencing Rekka more than I remember in previous volumes. One with

The other being her getting him to repeat what she's saying out loud. I can't remember that happening in previous volumes, though it may have, but I think it's a good way to get her involved, and it has a chance to produce decent comedy if used correctly.

Girls und Panzer the series is basically a sports anime. Only the sport is tanks. It provides a great deal of support for what it says, just don't expect /actual/ realism. Just verisimilitude. :)

The movie shifts genres and is basically a wuxia film. With tanks. :)

Wow. I guess I can toss out my impressions of what I've read (and watched) of the launch titles.

The Grimgar anime was ok, but like most single season anime, the story barely gets past the introductory phase. The light novels are better, but they are very first-person Haru.

Occultic;Nine is a weird story, and the anime seems to go beyond the translated volumes. It's not bad, but it's unusual.

Mixed Bathing in Another Dimension doesn't appear to have an anime, which is probably for the best. It's probably the most "adult" of the light novels I've read and I don't think it would adapt well. I do enjoy it and think that Mixed Bathing's Touya has his act together a lot more than Smartphone's Touya.

Last up is My Big Sister Lives in a Fantasy World. This light novel seems to have it all. Vampires, werewolves, turf wars, awkward high school romance, and it's still a better love story than Twilight. And to think I'm only on Volume 3!
