The emperor is an interesting character, I'm looking forward to learn more about him. Seems also like the most dangerous enemy for Seika if they end ul in opposite sides.
Normally I'd say the princess knight is set to be another harem member, but if the plan is to keep the first prince in check she has to stay at his side.
Wasn't expecting Haruyoshi pulling a Lord if the rings and tossing a ring into a volcano. I kinda wished that later in the story he came back to Japan to take revenge on the people who killed him, but looks like his friend took care of things in his stead.

Big fan of digital only releases if it means an underselling book gets carried on.

This novel seems a very specific aroace transmasc wish fulfillment. Elizabeth Barton makes herself into a perfect rogueish gentleman, proceeds to capture the hearts of almost every man & woman around them, and decisively rejects and avoids all of them. Instead choosing to focus on strength training and feats of martial prowess.

There's a lot of fun in the novel, but those that are hoping for an actual romance, or straight or lesbian couple, are going to be disappointed. At least by Volume 5 in 2026 - there seems to be a final volume perhaps. I've heard that it might have a choose-your-own adventure ending with all the different pairings but honestly? All of the male love interests do not actually match Elizabeth at all, and she has pretty decisively broken the heart of the women also. So wouldn't really recommend it - UNLESS - you're really into seeing a crossdressing noble go on fun adventures and make you laugh a ton. The main character really is a treat to read about and an excellent POV.

Oh man, this was such an intense but beautiful story. I find myself wishing the story could continue, to see Sakata find a happy life.

So we came to the end of the series. Wait… so there’s one more volume? Is that considered a proper volume in the series and so we will see it on JNC?

Anyway, this volume has been a roller coaster emotionally for me. I know real life relationships and farewells are messy and the author did not try to sugar coat it.

@Kurzaa They're not directing the dungeon malice, but that doesn't mean they didn't set the system up in the first place and since the demons basically corrupted the gods system it makes sense they might share similar attributes to the system itself.

Just finished this volume in one reading. This read like an episode of NHK World, I am always fascinated by how much Kyoto has to offer beyond what TikTok and YouTube showcases. Plus the whole detour into Netsuke and Kimono styles.

Ultimately I’m impressed by how the author weaves old plot points together to tell new stories, which is quite an achievement in itself.

@SupraD Well, Apothecary 13 just got an update from 1.0 to 1.1, which seems to mean that it’s a big change (or plenty of smaller ones), but the family/clan trees do not seem to have been part of that update. Were they in the original (Edit: Japanese) publication of v13, or a later printing/version? Volume 5 only went from 1.0 to 1.0.1 and v1 seems to have had a similarly-small update.

Can anyone from JNC please detail just what changed in this book? Or anyone else run a file comparison? :)

Finished reading the volume. The last battle was cool, Farris should be an interesting addition to the cast, and Anos' mom gained a new pet. What more could we ask for?

v14 is coming out in Japan on April 3rd, by the by.

Not a bad first volume but since the author is setting up an harem I hope we'll get a timeskip soon.

@Cryten they might just be focusing on catching up the manga and seeing how its sales are doing. Afterall, Roll Over and Die had a really long hiatus and yet is currently streaming an anime and has published 2 more volumes (second to be released in June). So fingers crossed.
