Part 1:
Sweet! More Asuka!
So, Asuka’s still wearing her school uniform, it seems.
10% interest per day?! Holy crap! That’s insane! For reference, if you were to start with a loan of one dollar and never pay any interest, by the end of the year, it would be up to one trillion dollars with that kind of interest rate.
“Those Who Writhe in the Shadows” Well, that sounds ominous.
Is the girl with the ponytail in the illustration Melissa, perhaps?
I wonder what was in that “last resort” bottle. Some sort of poison, perhaps?
“He wouldn’t be satisfied to see it end in such an unsatisfactory way.” Who’s “he”? Sudou?
Part 2:
Ah, so that’s who the woman on the cover is.
That fact that were not finding out what Ryoma’s plan is now bodes well for it.
Wow. That was quite the internal monologue there, Ryoma.
Part 3:
“A Restless Heart” That’s an interesting chapter title.
I don’t think “curse mark” is the best term to use for endowed thaumaturgy, since that would imply the item was, y’know, cursed, but whatever.
Alright, I guess they’re called “curse seals” because they’re mostly used on equipment used for enslavement. Makes sense.
Part 4:
I’m guessing that mirror is in some way connected to Grindiana.
Yep.
Oh, nice. Grindiana is quite pretty.
There are differing levels of beauty in addition to just being gorgeous, you know.
Can I just say that Julianus I reminds me of Alfred from Realist Hero?
What’s actually in the letter, though?
Part 5:
So, I looked it up, and cutaneous respiration actually is a thing in humans, which surprised me, but it’s nowhere near important enough in humans to where making it impossible would cause us to suffocate.
“Faithful but incompetent” cough Mikhail cough
Part 6:
Who the heck is “Sleia”?
This has been bothering me for a while, but are the terms for “east” and “west” switched?
I wonder what news that new runner brought.
Part 7:
“Chapter 5: The Church of Meneos” Oh boy.
Oh, so the people who picked Asuka up were knights of the Church of Meneos, then, not the Holy Qwiltantian Empire.
Well, I was right about Menea’s mother being an otherworlder, but she was from America, not Japan.
What the heck are “fraternal half-brother” and “fraternal half-sister” supposed to mean?
Well, if someone was to successfully use thaumaturgy to return to this Earth, how would the people of the other Earth know?
Ah. So, levels refer to how many chakras a person is capable of opening, then?
So, now that Tachibana knows of Ryoma’s existence, might Tachibana and Asuka start making their way over to Ryoma?
So, is this hooded man Kouichirou, perhaps?
Carrying a Japanese katana? Yep, that’s definitely Kouichirou.
I didn’t quite drop this series at the end of the month, but I just kinda got bored of it and didn’t read enough to finish it before it fell off catchup. (Having to constantly mentally correct typos and grammar errors didn’t help, though.) I’ll probably finisn catching up next time this goes on catchup.
