@PeachyGreen i have found that the art of reading these kinds of books is by willfully ignoring the weird shit and focusing on the wholesome stuff

Hopefully with volume 3 being recently released I hope that means they can license both at the same time so we don't have so much of a delay between volume 2 and 3.

That was my thought. Elizabeth is being positioned to get Felix in an obvious way.

I thought it was striking that Wes made no mention of nobles improving their land or lowering taxes to reduce hunger.

After that influenced/guided dream, it seems as through we’re in for a bit of a mess with Beatrice and her curse. I’m kinda dreading reading about what’s going to happen; I hope that it’ll at least be reasonably well-written…

edit: nevermind, I finally found it.

I have now finished reading the third volume and it was so good! While the first two volumes were still somehow slow-paced and more easy going, the story has picked up quite a bit here.
I also still think it's a shame that the manga only adapts the first volume. I would have loved to see that ball scene adapted, too. But maybe we will get an anime adaption in the future, this would be awesome! At least I hope so.

While reading I noticed a few details that just struck me as odd. I could very well imagine things, but are Ekaterina and Alexei really blood-related? In volume two, when Ekaterina looks at the portraits of the family, it is mentioned that while Alexei shares similarities in appearance with his father and grandmother, both have a noticeably different eye color and I assume with his grandfather it‘s the same. Not to mention the fact, that Ekaterina and her mother also have a completely different coloring. Ekaterina and Alexei also don’t share any similarities at all, which they should, at least slightly. It also strikes me as weird, that Lady Alexandra hated her grandson‘s eyes as mentioned by that stupid villainess in volume three and treated him badly. Well, she hated nearly everyone and I don’t think I need to mention anything about how she treated her sons’s wife and her very own granddaughter, so maybe it doesn’t really mean anything. But maybe, just maybe, there is more to it than meets the eye.
If it turns out they really aren‘t related in the end, I would ship them so hard. So far there is no male character who could compete with Alexei in the slightest anyway. I do have some hopes for the black dragon, but so far he still hasn‘t really made an appearance. If Ekaterina and Alexei are blood-related and true siblings, then I will probably ship her with the dragon. Just not the prince, please…

The 4-eye giants are the mages, so the 4-eye kid wanted to ask them about magic. Is Ernie going to tutor children in magic again?

These kids are likely the next generation's heroes.

don't worry about it, I'm a native French speaker and I couldn't read it either, that's how garbled it was. I was able to figure out "gyaru" and the sounds surrounding it was something like "garde" or "garder", but I could barely make out anything else.

@Terabyte Well, Wridra has a mate, but I don't know if he'd truly fall under the human definition of "husband". I mean, all we really know about him is that he knocked up Wridra and flew off to god knows where. I don't think you can really apply human social conventions to the relationship of ancient dragons. For all we know, they could have an open relationship, or have the viewpoint of "what happens in a humanoid body stays in a humanoid body."

@Brentoni The first one is a reference to the second Parodius game from 1990. Parodius was a series of shooters from Konami that were a parody of their own Gradius series. Another great volume. From the lore drop (I was totally not expecting that past Raid and Eluria weren't the original ones), to the new characters introduced, to the showdown between heroes, the gags, the romance, too many things to praise. Glad to see there are at least two more volumes, at some point I seriously started to think this was the ending and while it would've been a good stopping point, I want more.
Only thing that makes me perplexed is...was it really necessary to add a love rival? The main couple was established immediately, the series is not an harem, so why adding a girl now only to gave her rejected? Keeping the fox girl as a shipper would've been better.

So of all her partners the only one she recommends is Lilia???
Hmm hmm hmmm.

The book is something else when read as an entire volume. I finished it in a couple of sittings. The map was a huge help. The light tone makes it not sound like a history lesson. The dose of humor is just right. A family tree with all the aliases (like Duke Raul == Chancellor, Duke Agnicarl == Minister of ceremonies == Regent faction (more or less)) would have been an additional help..I had to map it out in my head with the aid of the map as and when more information was fed.
As we are reading the vol.2, I realise a lot of this groundwork and history was essential to understand the moves made there.
