It does seem awful convenient that his wife came down with a mysterious ailment that keeps her effectively catatonic and the Church of the Holy Spirit could convince him they could heal her...for a price.
And he's willing to die in the process of paying it.
I'm not in the habit of taking suckers' bets unless I'm on the winning side. That being said...
these Apostles are getting more and more tiresome. Their devotion to the Ain't is growing equally tiresome. Methinks they need a stiletto shoved through her spinal cord — but not through their trachea, they still need to be able to ask "why" in the few seconds of consciousness before they collapse.
And this "Io" is hardly any better. Methinks he needs to meet the Duchess Emerita and get a stern talking-to... as does her former ally, Crescent "I'll Become A Vampire And Side With My Master's Greatest Enemy" Moon.
