The other is Elizabeth Moon's Deed of Paksenarrion trilogy which I highly recommend.

Yesss!! Great portrayal of a paladin. It's one of my favorite books so I was happy to see it mentioned. Faraway Paladin has done a great job so far too (I need to read the LN now)

Yes, Moon's take on a paladin is more human and more admirable than the stereotypes of the insufferable goody two-shoes and the humorless zealot. Faraway Paladin gets it right (for me) in some of the same ways.

Hello catchup readers! Friendly reminder that catchups will be changing on Friday, October 1, around or after 1000 PDT (1700 UTC), so get your reading done before then!

Not Myskaros however, the general answer would be that J-Novel Club does not publicly comment on any potential licensing acquisitions until they are ready to announce.

That being said, since you are quoting a comment in relation to the Realist Hero Series, I will mention that J-Novel Club has licensed and is releasing the manga.

https://j-novel.club/series/how-a-realist-hero-rebuilt-the-kingdom-manga

Since you mentioned sequel series after that, I assume this is not about Realist Hero, as to my knowledge there is no sequel series.

Thanks for the reply.

And that is an Oopsie on my part, as I think I may have quoted the wrong item in the thread. I meant to ask about the manga and sequel regarding The Sorcerer's Receptionist, which was discussed earlier in the thread and the silly me that I am didn't realize that the topic changed.

Completely understand about formally commenting on future works, however.

@sea-sea

Hello,

Yes the July catchups have now expired (as of yesterday), now that August is in full swing a new set of catchup titles have been announced, and the old ones have gone back in the vault.

I been waiting for My Big Sister Lives in a Fantasy World to be on catch-up.

I've already read them all but am glad it is on catch-up so that others can discover it. Those who enjoy it should consider getting the premium epubs because they feature "Translator's Notes about all the references that Mutsuko makes to classic anime and manga".

Soon, a new batch of stuff to read :D

FYI, since May 1 falls on Saturday, catchups will be changing on Monday instead! Get through your April catchups by then before they're gone!

March catchups will be ending next Thursday, so get caught up before they're gone!

Just managed to scrape in Economics of Prophecy before tomorrow’s turnover. I was intrigued by the concept but somewhat unimpressed with its execution.

I also got pretty bored of The Magic in This Other World after just two volumes, I rather quickly didn’t vibe with its pacing and hearing people’s comments on later volumes just killed my interest I guess lol.

At least Bookworm manga was there to appreciate <3

Read all 3 volumes of Teogonia (man they are beefy) and damn, so many unresolved plot points :(
We really need at least one more volume to conclude the story.

Hi everyone, hope you're enjoying your end-of-year holidays! Sorry for the late reminder, but since we're all gonna be up for the new year anyway, catchups will be changing on Friday in the early hours US time, so you only have a couple days left to read December catchups!

Just a reminder to get your reading in, because catchups will be rotating on Tuesday the 1st around 1800 GMT!

@Caerold I believe this was already answered in the other topic, but for anyone reading this one, JNC does not have the rights to distribute our translations for Ichijinsha series in Japan, so Bibliophile Princess, Marielle Clarac, Bakarina, and Beast Head are unavailable to readers in Japan. We apologize for the inconvenience.

@the-green-death said in August Catchups: Little Apocalypse, Otherside Picnic, and more!:

After the first three parts I’m not feeling Otherside Picnic

I like the first 3 volumes so far. At first it's a little unsettling, because there's too much that you don't know and it makes it hard to like the characters, but that gets solved fairly quickly. The story starts to flow better once you trust the characters a bit more, which I think is very real-life.

The only thing I would fault the series for is that there seem to be two volumes of side stories before volume 4. Personally, I hate that, and I'm hoping that J-Novel picks up Volume 4 first, but that's just me.

@LeftyHandCream

As the comment a few slots up mentioned, because the 1st of the month falls on a weekend the shift to August catch ups will happen on Monday (today), that being said it is still very early in the United States, business hours have not started yet.

Your patience is appreciated

@myskaros Tanks, butt I read all that looked interesting already (paying to win, Sexiled, AltTina) so I await the July catch-ups

Sorry for the late reminder, but catchups for May are ending on Monday around 7 PM UTC!

I am so freaking happy, I had been trying to read honzuki, and had to rush it since I just joined a few days ago. Love and hugs for you!!!

In case anyone isn't quite sure when exactly catchups are going to switch over, I'll do them first thing in the morning, which will be 12-13 hours from this post.
