I skipped this volume when it was being released and I just finished it now. I must say, I don’t like the queen. The king being a prankster and the l duke being a sadist are parts of their character that I can live with, but the queen seems like the kind of person who feels like her actions are always justified. Of course, she’s wise, so she doesn’t do things out of meanness but putting your future daughter-in-law through ordeal to test your son gives Julianne the short end of the stick. Her apology means little since Julianne has no choice but to accept it (I mean, what else could she do in the situation?) Julianne being who she is, she wasn’t hurt, but it was still a mean thing to do. Just because you’re “justified” doesn’t give you a free pass. I hope she makes it up to Julianne in the future and not just try to brush it off.

@hnryirawan Volume 3 is published by Square Enix Books, with whom we have no established connections, so it's not as simple as just "restarting" the translation. That said, Sam has already commented on it in the other topic:

Rahul might not be able to comment but I can. We have already approached square enix about the general question of licensing light novels from their new label, and I do not anticipate there will be significant difficulties making sure we can continue to publish any ongoing series. However they are a publisher we have not signed a contract with yet so the initial negotiations may take a while.

 

Thanks for your patience. Also keep in mind they just started this label in Japan. The editorial department is new and likely has more important stuff to deal with right now than foriegn licensing like making sure the books get printed and distributed in japan!

@vivian Me too. It's probably more hilarious than hot. We do get some clues on how it went down in vols 5 and 6, and I'd like to see Marielle completely flustered when she realised how wrong she's been. 😳 I hope it gets into the webnovel if it can't be in the books.

So I just finished volume 9… what a ride.

I began this series over a year or two ago with the fan translated web novel, and it got stuck in a quagmire of well, we won’t go there, I saw that Our beloved team here at JNC had picked it up.

My choice then was to decide… start from scratch and rip my hair out re-reading what I had already read… or wait, so wait I did. Not only that I had to watch volume after volume be released while religiously checking the summary to see if it had caught up to where I left the web novel at…. Finally with volume 11 it seems like it might have, dare I try to start?

So far I’ve read 8 volumes, in 3 weeks, another 3 days for volume 9… and seeing as I’m on a roll, you really think I’ll put this down for anything short of the apocalypse?

Not likely. If anything, the authors inclusion of gramps and Ashoka give it new life, AND I fine I’m reading it more for THEIR story than for Ryoma’a…

And finally I have verification of what I had a gut feeling on since I started the bloody web novel, that Ryoma’a mother and father where summoned to this world too (tho the math feels a wee bit odd from my perspective and understanding). Can I hope that one, or both of those show up in coming volumes? I mean, for a hot second I thought the Vixen of the North was going to be his long lost baby sister…. But it didn’t make sense age wise… lol

Seriously, I’ve been trying to hold back from screaming at the organization that they should be connecting certain names together MUCH FASTER!

Now… something more amusing, seeing as the story is yet to come…
