Ended up picking up this series and finished because it's readable for free this month. It's just what free does to a mofo, nothing too special.

The novel had ideas that may have been good building blocks but not enough depth to make any lasting substance... it is akin to how I feel with slime isekai, where everything felt superficial to make things fluffy and all. It ends up being a flippant tale, and the ending of it is just not worth thinking about due to the "end game" being too extravagant. the standard deus ex machina issue of every fantasy tale except for the few that you can count with your hand is prevalent as always, but can we ever escape it (especially when the hard work that the target audience would feel is the death from terrible work life)?

The Trundles and Serephione made me think of League due to the names, and I think that just means that I overdone myself with that game, even though it's been a month since the last time I opened it.

When Serephione was gonna become the wind, I thought it was gonna have a sad ending, where she's there, but no one knows, and then she lives to see the end of the tale. I guess it could've gone either way.

I'm really, really surprised that the author never dabbled into Maribelle's past life. Also, there's a lot of kisses, to the point where the significance of it is quite lost.

This doesn't apply to fantasy or stories set in other worlds. An author is the authority on a foreign culture when it's a culture they invented.

In this case we were recently given information on this culture when they were discussing the connection between the priest and knights that similarities in names Dahlia didn't fully understand were used when naming nobles from connected families.

A name retcon with the recent cliffhanger becomes very suspicious.

Bathing regularly is an accommodation, but one that seems like it is becoming a habit of her own. Zenjirou did give up his shampoo for her use.

Reduced maid presence is a legitimate way in which she is making herself uncomfortable in service to Zenjirou's comfort and happiness. Good job, Aura! You met one of the minimum requirements for your stated conditions of Zenjirou being your husband. In a minor way you adhered to the deal you made with him. That surely makes up for most of the deal going out the window when it turned out to be inconvenient for you to keep to you promise and your husband put up little fuss when broke your word.

Japanese name for their son I'm not too sure of. Is it really a compromise or an accommodation if they make a point of calling him by the name that is more acceptable for Aura's benefit? Their son, whatever his official name, goes by Carlos Zen. Not Zenkichi.

Zenjirou is eventually getting a concubine whether he likes it or not. I guess it's nice that Aura is allowing him to get used to the idea before forcing the issue?

Aura has little idea what she can offer Zenjirou that he would legitimately like and even when Zenjirou's good service results in Aura being required to give him a gift in order to not seem like a bad monarch Zenjirou will tend to accept a performative gift that he doesn't really care about but which makes Aura look good for giving him. I think the only time she gave him a gift that he actually wanted was the goat milk. That was legitimately thoughtful. But why doesn't she at least attempt more? Throw things at the wall and see what sticks? At least try to do something for him when he does so much for her? We see that in her internal monologue she is aware that this is an issue and even feels guilty for it, but then she goes right back to just expecting that Zenjirou will do what is best for Aura, with little complaint.

I think Mars might be a foreign agent. He seems to fermenting instability, trying to pit multiple claimants to the throne against each other, but it isn’t clear what he has to gain from this situation, unless instability is the goal. And who would benefit if the country becomes unstable? A foreign power, ergo Mars might be a foreign agent.

The constant digressions are the main reason I don't read this series weekly. It would be too frustrating to wait a week for the next part only to learn that nothing happened other than the author explaining that in contemporary Japan you oick a cup of tea with the right hand while in isekai you have to use the left.
At least in this volume we got some important info regarding Sudou and Ryoma was finally reunited with grandpa, which might lead to some interestingdevelopments. I'm looking forward to around volume 30 when he'll meet again Asuka too. Also, he killed those idiotic nobles and that was very satisfying to read.
The story is interesting enough that I have no intention to drop it, at least for now, but if knly the author could focus on what's really important...

@nevin Yuki is very crass in Japanese as well. While you could argue that it could be possible to convey without as many explicit swear words in English, it's not out of character or an outright translation issue.

Popping in during catchup. WTF was that? The ending reminded me of Travellers (Netflix) but also gave off “this is all virtual” vibes. It seems like Ash is literally the phoenix god… as created by the ancient civilization’s nanotech. His recovery from the bear and werewolf attacks weren’t just luck and constitution but nanotech assists. The demons being tech means that the mysterious voices and vision were transmissions. All of which means that installing friendlies into the 2 enemy domains may or may not be necessary if they’re about to blow their whole society up. Although the author’s post scripts mostly makes it seem like that won’t happen? Genre whiplash.

Just starting part 2 and women keep sitting "on" their desks. Is that supposed to be "at" their desks?
