I’m still annoyed by the overuse of the word “murder” and its variations, although that hasn’t been a problem for a while.

Although I get that there’s no reason the people of the other world would call their own world “Rearth,” it still makes things confusing.

Seems we won’t be getting our answers as to how Kouichiro knew about this world just yet.

A “Thaumaturgical Sword,” huh?

Part 3:
Finally back to Ryoma’s perspective!

Do the gold and silver scales on the serpent stand for Laura and Sara, perhaps?

That was a nice little segment about Ryoma and the Malfist twins’ relationship.

Dude, is it really necessary to kill Wallace Heinkel’s family, as well?

I wonder what the condition that Gennou set was.

Part 4:
Is there any sort of illustration of Yulia?

I get the feeling that Count Salzberg is just trying to impress Ryoma.

Or maybe not. Also, Julia is definitely hiding something about how they got their salt.

Initially, I was thinking of dropping the series with that bit where Ryoma made love to that maid, since I’m not into series with protagonists who play around, but the scene afterward is suggesting that the maid might actually be better off that way, so I guess I’ll keep going. Also, that could potentially lead to Laura and Sara being more assertive, so that’s fun. Also, also, why do I get the feeling the Salzbergs are going to try to take Laura and Sara?

Well, I definitely don’t think it was because Ryoma was weak to women like Yulia seems to think.

Yeah, I don’t see any way Laura and Sara don’t find out about this.

Oh, so Ryoma does know that the Malfist twins have feelings for him, then.

Part 5:
Was that man in the lobby of the Christof Company a pirate, or something?

Part 6:
“The Oppressed” That sounds kinds of ominous.

Hoo, man. That illustration is… OOF.

Oh man. That whole section up until the end of the part was really rough, honestly.

Part 7:
So was the beginning of this part (including that illustration of Melissa) up until the end of that chapter. Wow.

On a (somewhat) lighter note, more stuff from Asuka’s party! Hooray!

Is carrying a canteen of brandy around illegal? I wouldn’t know. I guess it is in Japan. It’s not really the sort of thing that strikes me as being “naturally” illegal, though, but I’m not Japanese, so whatever.

Is this Menea person’s mother an otherworlder from Japan, perhaps?

Now assuming that confession stands, that's going to probably make two girls rather unhappy (Yumi and Mashiro), give one girl mixed emotions (Kokoro), and thoroughly incense the last one (little sister).

The next volume is going to be a scream.

Fun premise but why is every so awful? Couldnt get beyond part 1 because everything is stupid and everything is awful

Part 2:
Yeah, I agree with Meltina and Mikhail that trying to take the fight to the nobles’ faction’s stronghold when they have fewer soldiers than the nobles’ faction sounds idiotic.

I suppose Ryoma wants to strike now before Albrecht’s forces are properly integrated into Duke Gelhart’s army.

Ah, so it’s actually the command structure. Ryoma want’s to strike now before the enemy’s new command structure is finalized.

I wonder what these arrangements that Ryoma made are.

Part 3:
Laura and Sara are up in other work? I assume that has something to do with the ace up Ruoma’s sleeve?

“This decision would be one Ryoma would go on to deeply regret later down the line.” Well, that’s ominous.

Using thaumaturgy for construction? That reminds me of Realist Hero. I’m a bit surprised no one thought of it before now, actually.

Ah. So Sara (and Laura, too, probably) are keeping an eye on the spies, then?

I see they’re making a disposable (probably floating) bridge, then.

Part 4:
Yep! I knew it!

“Chapter 3: The Assassin” That sounds ominous.

So, Sudou is the one who brought Radine, as well? Interesting.

“Sakuya,” huh? That name sounds awfully Japanese.

Looks like the twins are back to their regular outfits based on the that illustration, as opposed to the maid clothes they were described as wearing at the beginning of the book.

Part 5:
Given that illustration, I guess Sakuya’s the one with the katana on the front cover.

Interesting. Sakuya doesn’t appear to be from Japan, or even know what “Japan” is. Perhaps her ancestors are Japanese, then?

So, this Japanese katana is a weapon passed down in Sakuya’s clan. I bet her clan is descended from someone who came from Japan, then. In fact, adding in some speculation from last volume, I wonder if Ryoma’s grandfather came from that clan.

This old man just popping out of nowhere. LUL

Well, that was something. Is this guy a perverted old man, or something?

Part 6:
I wonder what the ninja clan’s “most ardent wish” is. Also, “the Divine Sword has hummed”? What could that mean?

Ryoma finally managed to get his hands on a katana! Woohoo!

Alright, I couldn’t quite tell for sure before, but that illustration confirms at least Laura changed back into her usual outfit.

Part 7:
I wonder who it is that’s in Duke Gelhart’s dungeon.

Normally, I’d say the fact that they didn’t find Mikhail’s body would mean that he would come in and save the day later on, but Mikhail doesn’t seem like the type of person for that… Oh! I bet Mikhail’s the one that’s in Duke Gelhart’s dungeon!

Oh man. Sudou’s made contact with Princess Lupis.

Part 1:
I get the feeling this “Organization” is going to be the main antagonist.

So, if it really is impossible for Ryoma to return to his world, I have a feeling the twins will comfort him when he finds that out.

I wonder what it was that Gaius was working on.

“She had a grit one wouldn’t expect out of a woman.” That sentence is a bit of an eyebrow raiser. I don’t think being a woman has anything to do with grit, at least not in the way it’s used here.

Seems like I was right.

“Or proof of a deeper affection?” Heh.

I wonder what was a up with that dream scene.

Part 2:
The girls haven’t been eating? I wonder if that’s an unintended side effect of Ryoma ordering them to sit at the table and eat with him last volume.

That was a nice ending to the prologue.

“Chapter 1: Assailant” Well, that’s ominous.

Laura being disappointed over missing out on spending time with Ryoma is somewhat amusing.

Oh, I don’t like this conversation between Wallace and this other man at all. I get the feeling they’re gonna try and turn Laura into a slave, or something. (I mean, she technically already is one, but only in name, and even then, only because of the blood pact.)

Part 3:
And suddenly, in media res.

Part 4:
“Entangled Plots” Oh my.

Part 5:
I wonder what Ryoma asked Meltina to do. They kinda skipped over it at the beginning of this part.

Ah, I see. Seems like Ryoma’s angle is to use veiled threats on the neutral nobles.

Or not, apparently.

Part 6:
Man, this volume really likes having time-skips between parts.

Oh boy. We’ve got people after Ryoma’s life again.

Huh. “Princess” Radine does look sort of similar to Laura and Sara, but I have no idea whether or not that’s just same-face syndrome or not.

I really hope that both Ryoma and Radine will manage to survive, but it doesn’t seem all that likely that will actually end up happening.

“The Ivory Goddess of War” Not sure whether that refers to Laura or Lupis
. I’m guessing Laura for now.

Helena Steiner? Who’s that?

Part 7:
Alright, now I’m guessing this Helena Steiner is who “The Ivory Goddess of War” refers to.

Yep. Although, it was translated as “White” rather than “Ivory” here.

Well, if Helena is a commoner, and desires neither money nor fame, might what she desires be to be granted nobility?

Ah. She wants revenge. Yeah, that makes sense.

Yep, seems like Albrecht killed Helena’s husband and daughter. (Or at least, had them killed.) Dang.

Man, Helena’s story was tragic.

Seems like Lione’s resorting to calling in a favor.

Part 8:
Oh man. Laura gave Ryoma a lap pillow.

Nice little semi-romantic moment between Laura and Ryoma there before the battle with Branzo.

“A whirlwind of catastrophe”? Hmmm…

Wait, what? How did Kouichirou where Ryoma went? (Don’t answer that.)

So, did one Ryoma’s ancestors (maybe even Kouichirou) manage to find a way from that world Ryoma’s currently in back to his own world, or something? (Again, don’t answer that.)

That last bit there makes me think that Ryoma’s parents ended up in the other world, as well. Hmmm…

Gonna check this one out while it’s on catch up. Not sure whether I’ll actually finish this one of not at this point, though.

Part 1:
Wow. Starting immediately with some ominous behind the scenes plotting, I see.

Also, “Illustrator: bob” LUL

Well, that was quite the training session.

Given that Asuka is a named character, I’m wondering if she’s gonna show up again at some point after Ryoma ends up in the other world.

So, yeah. Barely enough happened in this part to whet my appetite, so I can’t actually tell whether I’ll like this or not yet.

Part 2:
What is it with the Japanese and equating all killing with murder. Halberds are tools of war, not murder.

“Raise him”? “Carve the seal on him”? That doesn’t sound good.

Again with using the word “murder” in cases where it doesn’t really apply. Killing someone in self-defense doesn’t really qualify as “murder” in my eyes.

It’s a survival situation. How exactly is choosing to kill people who are coming at you with drawn weapons and killing intent “unforgivable”? I will grant that he could have tried to otherwise incapacitate the soldiers, though.

Holy crap, this over-usage of the word “murder” is really annoying me.

“Seal of servitude”? Yeah, I was right about it not sounding good.

Well, there’s something the word “murder” might actually be suited for.

Part 3:
Alright, that bit about no amount of caution being enough when it came to handling Gaius was a fair point.

Finally, a usage of the word “murder” that’s relatively accurate.

Wow. That’s a really good performance from Ryoma.

A fire? Did Ryoma have a lighter on him, or something?

Dude, again with the over-usage of the word “murder.”

Part 4:
Wow. Killing the doctor was a bit much, I think.

The Succubus Knights? Well, that’s an evil-sounding name.

Well, I sort of get why Ryoma had to kill that doctor, but still….

Wait, how exactly did Ryoma light everything on fire? They didn’t explain that.

Part 5:
You know, I have this fear that Meg here is gonna meet a grisly end.

That’s a clever way of figuring out how many coppers make up a silver without
arousing suspicion.

Part 6:
So, is Ryoma gonna use a bunch of consecutive short-range delivery jobs to get out of the country, then?

Part 7:
“Things could have ended up this easier much quickly” Um, what?

“Chapter 3: Resolve” That’s an interesting chapter title.

Is this Saito the same as the guy from Part 1, I wonder?

Part 8:
I bet the Empire would be surprised to learn that Ryoma has a guild card.

Oh, man. I don’t like these bandits at all.

It seems like those girls were already slaves prior to being caught by the bandits, since the girls didn’t expect the bandits to know what the submission collars did.

Man, these bandits disgust me.

So, Ryoma quite literally caught the bandits with their pants down.

The girls are probably obeying the orders of the guy who left them behind because their collars make it impossible for them to do anything else.

A girl’s scream? That doesn’t sound good.

Part 9:
Cutting the ring finger on his left hand sounds it like have something to do with transferring ownership of Laura and Sara (or just Laura, right now) to Ryoma.

Seems like I was right. Bit odd that it can be done without the previous master’s permission, but whatever.

Alright, it seems like that applied to Sara, as well, even though she didn’t directly participate.

Nope. Never mind.

Man, I can’t wait to see this pig-like slave merchant get what’s coming to him.

So, it seems like the blood pact basically gives up freedom in exchange for powerful
thaumaturgy?

Alright, so it really isn’t normal for them to be able to make a new blood pact without their current master’s approval. That definitely raises a lot of questions.

Man, it’s pretty sad that Ryoma had to actually order Laura and Sara to sit at the table and eat with him.

Seems like Laura and Sara actually have a last name, after all.

Heh. Seems like Sara figured out that Ryoma is an Otherworlder.

Ryoma may want to return to his old world now, but I have a feeling he’s gonna end up falling in love with the twins.

Alright, so Ryoma let himself get captured. Now, I wonder where the twins went.

I can’t help but think that Ryoma has some way to let the twins know his location, or something.
