Would be great to see J-Novel try and see if they could pick up the rest of the series as Yen Press don't seem to want to get the rest of the licenses and now that they have a print partnership with J-Novel maybe this would be easier to sort out where J-Novel does the translation and digital and Yen Press does a print version so Yen Press still has a hand in the licence? Plus with the new anime series coming out there might be renewed interest in it?

@jpwong oh that one. Hobby Japan treats Mebius World Online as the series title and puts it first when writing the title out in full, although Squenix flipped the order for the manga and treats Mebius World Online as the subtitle instead. I’ve picked it all up at some point but never actually read it that I can recall.

Apparently, the GATE manga is available in the Kindle format by Alphaplois, and the first 3 volumes were released 2 weeks ago.

It's got great humor as well since the thing he hates the most (his lack of visibility, literally almost nothing notices him) is his greatest asset in dungeon delving and also the primary reason the high ranking adventurers took notice of him. Plus, much like himself, his mask appears to be stealthy as he keeps forgetting to take it off when talking to people.

Came to especially find if anyone had recommended Tokyo Crazy Paradise - I’ve bought this in Japanese (which I can’t read unfortunately) just to support it, and every time this manga comes up on blogs or message boards there’s always multiple people wishing for an English release

Unless MAL is totes confused, the first of the manga versions started publication prior to the light novel release. I haven't checked to see if there was a WN first, or if this is one of the uncommon works where the LN was developed after a manga or anime version already existed; the LN being the adaptation, as it were.

It sounds like an odd story universe, odd in a good way.

The same author as The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest and My Isekai Life: I Gained a Second Character Class and Became the Strongest Sage in the World!, if that helps with the style of story they tend toward.

I was trying to think of anime I like that are based on unlicensed novels, and I remembered this one.

The anime is wonderful.

Not impossible but it is a hard sell. Old titles in general do not do well unless there's a lot of nostalgia involved, and the fact that Ghost Sweeper is relatively long makes it an even larger risk. Generally speaking, titles that have gone unlicensed for long periods of time have reasons for being unlicensed.

Discommunication is an old manga that was licensed by JNC and bombed so badly I think it's the only title they've voluntarily abandoned. I'm not sure it's fair to use that as a gauge (it's weird) but it does reinforce the fact that it needs to be something they think will sell.
