@SomeOldGuy said in Demon Lord, Retry! Vol. 5 Discussion:
@saskir It could be that his life in Japan was a reincarnation, and the game was his "previous life's memories".
This was also one of the possible conclussions I though about. But then I wonder about XX or the now missing X (interesting names, as if someone just typed on a keyboard something to be done with it, like for the Mirror Slime, 7 STRG Z, etc). Because we see this CEO talking with XX, making omnious comments so they are not entirely unrelated.
Also we got hints that the world he is now in is not entirely unrelated to his Life in Japan (think about all the names of people and places) and especially why does Wu Wungol look like the old Boss of Akira? So maybe this new world is also a figment of Akira Onos mind. Or it is, like I previously mentioned, like the game of XX. After the fish swallowed everything it all restarts (retry, huh) with a button press. Although this would make it a sad reality as he stated there is no real purpose to this game.
SOOOO. How about hypothesis session? I assume that the Demon Lord/Lucifer of old was really Akira Ono/Kunai. But he was not satisfied with how this round did go so he restarted the world, which leads to to his Life in Japan where he tries his hands as a creator of a world (although digital). And as this was also not going how he liked it he is now in the world of where Holylight is. Oh and I am not necessarily saying that there were only 3 iterations of lifes Kunai did life through. It seems clear that Holylight followed after Japan as the time is nearly consistent. But how much time did pass between Lucifer and those other two?
Although there is one big point which I did not really account for. I am speaking now as if Akira is the one in charge of this. But what about XX? Is he either a part of Akira which split from him or is he even the Holy Light which got mentioned? Or maybe someone a little lower as the CEO was too casual with him if he was really the big boss. So maybe one of the angels? Maybe the real protagonist is XX and Kunai is simply a NPC which he favors (like Kunai favors his creations, not necessarily love but proud of every part he himself created). And as XX got bored with how Akira lived in Japan he destroyed it (and yes, there are enough hints that a catastrophe happend in 1999, even excluding the Endcredits of the anime series where Akira stands between ruins). Even though Hakuto mentions itself that there was no catastrophe in 1999 but then he gets a flashback as if this was not entirely true.
One question arise before I go further with my train of thought. Has the Author of this Novel even a plan or does he simply add elements to the story and make it up along the way (like Hakuto, muwahahaha)
