[SPOTLIGHT] Make Your Pitch!!!

Hyperion

@drone205 I like the idea but man that's a lot a work. Especially now that we have hundreds of requests. How about going highlighting those with the least votes first and make our way up? A lot of those will have the higher points according to your algorithm anyway.

Drone205

@hyperion not the least votes first, at least do the ratio of votes to age. my algorithm is basicly time since active divide by the ratio of up-vote to how old the post is. Why not just use the up-votes to age ratio as you can have 2 series with 15 votes but series A is 3 months old while series B is 5 months old.

Series A would be 15/3 = 5

Series B would be 15/5 = 3

In this case you would spotlight series B as it is lower (I perposly made my algorithm earlier to be the higher point wise the more priority it gets but now with this simpler algorithm it would be the lower).

Hyperion

@drone205 That makes sense. Should we try another round of spotlights then and see if anything comes of it?

How about these? They're older posts, no one has commented on them for months and they all have fewer than 20 votes.

@hyperion though I think posting a comment on the spotlight series would be a good idea as then it will get more people checking them out directly.

Time for another round of spotlights!

Another day, another round of spotlights:

Hyperion

Hyperion

A bit overdue, but here's a batch of spotlights. The general theme is they all have anime adaptations.

Hyperion

Hyperion

Welcome to this week's spotlights! Today's participants are:

Hyperion

I'm devoting this week's spotlights to BloodyGaikotsu for his dedication in promoting so many different types of stories and genres despite adversity. I've always tried to include one of his posts in every round of spotlights due to the sheer number of them that have been neglected, but there was still more that needed attention. This is for you @BloodyGaikotsu. I hope all the notifications don't drive you too crazy ; )

Kanojo ga Flag wo Oraretara (I'm repeating this one since I didn't post in it first time)
Seitokai Tantei Kirika
Ashita, Boku wa Shinu. Kimi wa Ikikaeru. (Tomorrow, I will die. You will revive.)
Ore no Real to Netgame ga Love Come ni Shinshokusare Hajimete Yabai
The Incite Mill
Part-time job is "evil organization"!? / Baito-saki wa "Aku no Soshiki"!?
Maid kara Haha ni Narimashita (From Maid to Mother)

BloodyGaikotsu

@hyperion
I opened the forums, noticed the unnatural number of the notifications; however, I proceeded to "unread" section as usual instead.
And, my first thought was, "Damn! @Hyperion finally ran out of unpopular threads aside mine!!!"

I knew I posted different things from light fantasy through romcoms to dark twisted contemporaries, that's why I slowed down lately feeling like I just ended up flooding the bottom of suggestions list and I should give it a break already lol (Well, I did keep reviving some drama titles whenever I can lol).

But, looking at this list, wow!
I posted a lot ~~and this list wasn't even capable of encompassing all the different genres I tried to promote (like slasher, Sci-fi, Shinhonkaku mystery, tragedy, horror, etc.) lol~~

Hopefully, this proves to be a good publicity lol

I hope all the notifications don't drive you too crazy

Don't worry, I don't see any crazy numbers yet.

But looking at old threads stresses me out since I keep spotting all the typos I made...

Hyperion

@bloodygaikotsu
Yeah, I was afraid everyone would think that was too many of one person's posts to bring forward but then I was like, screw it. It was fun.

I know there's still more of yours I can add to future spotlights, so don't worry I'll get to them lol. I thought 7 was enough at once. Also, I haven't run out of other unpopular posts yet either, so they won't be alone : )

I hope some of these get at least a smidge more attention.

Hyperion

Time for another round of spotlights! With the rescue of two classic series, I got in the mood to highlight some others on here. So let's party like it's 1999 or so:

Since Scrapped Princess seems like a guaranteed license eventually, I didn't include it. Gosick had the most upvotes of any of these, so ditto.

Hyperion

Ok ladies and gentlemen, it's spotlight time. This week's theme is simple, there has been no conversation on these posts whatsoever! So let's generate some noise for:

Hyperion

Before Anime Expo mania kicks in, I'd like to do this month's spotlights. The theme this time: romance/rom-coms! Because...well...I want more of them : )
These are ones that could use a little more attention:

Hyperion

It's August, so time for this month's spotlights:

Spotlight time! This month's theme: Japan's love of ridiculously long titles. Enjoy!

It's October and for us northern hemisphere folks that means cooler weather, fall colors, and pumpkin spice galore. Then it'll soon be Halloween: a time for horror, supernatural, vampires, and enormous books with covers of ripped women with equally enormous boobs. Who wouldn't find that scary?
